When a computer is stolen or damaged, insurance companies can have a hard time assessing the value of a replacement. This is where Walsall-based Claim Control Consultants comes in. Set up by Ted Bowers in 1995 to serve insurers, the company decides what make and model of computer should replace the one that has been damaged or stolen. The expanding PC market has helped drive up company sales 96% a year from £1.7m in 1997 to £12.5m in 2000, when it had 35 staff.
