Clearabee

Co-founders Daniel Long, 31, and Rob Linton, 53, were working in investment banking and logistics respectively when they decided to swap their City jobs for rubbish collection, launching Clearabee in 2013. Initially generating work through online advertisements, the Birmingham firm now has a fleet of more than 100 vans offering large item, skip bag and sack collection across the UK, for customers including Wren Kitchens and Co-op Food. Sales reached £9m last year, when it diverted 90% of the waste it collected from landfill. It has also purchased 10 acres of forest to offset its vehicles’ carbon emissions.
