When ‘The Gherkin’, the Swiss Re building in the City of London, opens early next year, Coflex will be responsible for ensuring that it is smoothly run. Founded by Seamus Grealish and Joe Samuels in 1997, Coflex beat competition for its first client, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, by being the only company to tender in Japanese. Now the Surrey company claims to have facilities management and consultancy contracts with many blue-chip clients including Lloyd’s of London and Barclays. Its sales have grown more than 94% a year from £4.4m in 1999 to £32m in 2002.
