Colorama’s origins are as a photo printing operator, picking up films from chemists and developing them overnight. The company now has three photo-processing plants, as well as kiosks in shops to print customers’ digital images. It has also built on its relationships with pharmacies to develop a business that supplies more than 3,000 outlets with drugs on a wholesale basis. Still owned by the family of founder Naresh Patel, the firm generated sales of £160.4m in 2006.
