Colorama supplies generic drugs, surgical items and over-the-counter beauty products to more than 4,000 independent pharmacies across Britain. The London company was founded in 1982 to complement Naresh Patel’s photographic printing business, which processed films for local chemists. In 2007 the company developed Istop, a chain of touch-screen kiosks, supported by Jobcentre Plus, to provide local information on jobs and shopping. Led by managing director Arun Patel, the company posted sales of £212.2m in 2008.
