This insurance and reinsurance broker places premiums worth more than £2 billion a year. Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford has 60 offices across the world offering property, retail and corporate reinsurance. It also provides cover for victims of natural disasters. Cooper Gay merged with American broker Swett & Crawford in July last year to form what it claims is the largest independent global wholesale and reinsurance broker. Under chief executive Toby Esser sales reached £162.2m in 2010, boosted by strong growth in Latin America and Asia.
