London-based Cordant supplies workers to sectors including nursing, engineering and catering. In 2017, the family-owned company’s revenues rose 3% to £851m, thanks to organic growth and the acquisition in 2015 of Staffgroup, a group with eight offices across Europe and America. Last September, the company, which is run by chief executive Chris Kenneally, 57, and chaired by Phillip Ullmann, 53, announced it would reinvest profits and apply executive pay caps to become a social enterprise.
