Jim Cockburn, 68, a social worker, and Jan Rees, 77, a foster carer, founded agency Core Assets in 1994 to provide foster care for children in Britain. The Worcestershire firm has since expanded into other areas of social care and now operates in 11 countries across four continents. In May, it acquired LCS Partnerships, a provider of semiindependent accommodation to vulnerable young people leaving care.
