Frustrated by the hassle and cost of shopping for razors, serial entrepreneur Oliver Bridge, 29, set up this shaving supplies business in 2014. Cornerstone is an online subscription service for men’s grooming products, which sends its 160,000 customers regular supplies of German-engineered razors, shaving cream and face wash in the post. It has raised £8m in funding from business angels, including Charles Tyrwhitt founder Nick Wheeler, 52, and private-equity firm Calculus Capital, which invested £2m in a £3.5m round in August. Sales rose sixfold to £4m in 2016 and are forecast to double to £8.4m this year. It plans to add new categories of toiletries, such as shampoo and dental care, with the aim of becoming a “bathroom automation service for men”.
