Covion says it employs 600 staff to provide its 27 clients with services that include maintenance, security, catering and induction training. In 2005, it underwent a £10m management buyout backed by Octopus Investments and Foresight Venture Partners. Co-founders David Steventon and Frank Rodriguez predict continued organic growth in
a British market that is estimated to be worth £50 billion. Meanwhile, the company is also considering an acquisition to move into IT and technical services, which have higher profit margins. Sales have grown 88% a year from £2.2m in 2002 to £15m in 2005.
