Cowlin Group

Bristol construction concern Cowlin Group has been in business since 1834 and now operates from a network of offices throughout the southwest and South Wales. Recent projects include helping renovate Gloucester’s historic docks and building a new Centre of Sporting Excellence near Bristol. The group also controls divisions specialising in timber-frame construction and in electrical engineering. Sales rose to £185.7m in 2006 under chief executive Nick Higgs, who says that a pipeline of work worth more than £200m should keep the firm’s more than 400 staff busy in 2008.
