CP Holdings is best known for its controlling stake in the Danubius hotel chain, which operates mainly in eastern Europe. It also has international interests in heavy plant machinery, logistics, serviced offices and brownfield regeneration. The group’s founder, Sir Bernard Schreier, an Austrian who came to Britain in the 1950s, died in June. After our research closed, CP Holdings reported sales decreased to £405.6m but profits more than doubled to £20.6m.
