Fast Track 100

Founded in 2007, this London merchant offers specialist fine wine portfolio services, managing wine investments for more than 1,600 clients in 55 countries. The company was set up by former investment banker Phil Gearing, 58, and son Tom, 27, who was a runner-up on The Apprentice TV programme in 2012. It also provides online tools and guides to help collectors assess the value of their investments and maximise them. Sales increased to £17.2m this year, largely because of an increase in foreign customers, who accounted for 30% of sales. The company plans to expand its overseas operations, launching a Hong Kong subsidiary next year.
