Founded in 1986, this Wimbledon-based company produces software that enables hospitals to monitor and analyse patient safety. Invited by the Canadian province of British Columbia to bid for a tender in 2005, which it won, Datix has subsequently expanded beyond the NHS and British private hospitals to sell to organisations in Canada, America and Australia. Indeed, the company counts the US Department of Defense and the state of South Australia among its clients. Datix is majority-owned by Bowmark Capital following a buyout in 2008, and is led by chief executive Jonathan Hazan. International sales grew by 109% a year, from £684,000 in 2008 to £3m in 2010.
