Digico’s equipment is used to manage and improve sound quality at live shows, from theatre productions such as The Lion King to concerts by Madonna and U2. Under managing director James Gordon, the London business, which was formed in 2002, has grown by developing new products and expanding overseas – in 2010, 85% of its sales were exports, totalling £16.1m. The company has seen profits increase by 113% a year, from £648,000 in 2007 to £6.3m in 2010; and last year, as part of a £50m deal, Digico received secondary funding from Isis Equity Partners, which took a 48% stake in the business.
