Doctors.net.uk claims to be Europe’s largest independent network for collaboration in healthcare. Founded in 1998, the Oxfordshire company says that about 40% of Britain’s registered doctors access its site every month and use a range of services, which include a forum, e-mail and online education. Revenue comes from communications and market-research services to public sector, pharmaceutical and other organisations, including the Department of Health, Roche and Vodafone. The company is led by Richard Adams and Tim Ringrose, and its sales have grown 42% a year from £2.2m in 2004 to £6.1m in 2007.
