“Digital hobbies” is how Kent-based Dovetail Games describes its products. These include train, fishing and aircraft simulators such as Microsoft Flight Simulator, for which it holds the official licence. The company was founded in 2008 when former EA Games executive Paul Jackson, 53, and investors bought the technology behind a train simulator. Today it sells a range of games for download through digital distributors as well as high street stores such as Game. Driven by the success of its flagship product, Train Simulator, the company’s sales hit £6.1m in 2014.
