DSM Demolition knocks down big buildings such as factories, football stadiums and tower blocks, sometimes using explosives, and also removes asbestos from old buildings. The Birmingham company was founded in 1986 by Robin Powell and Pat Kelly as part of PJ Murray Haulage, but became independent in 1988. Projects such as the £3.6m demolition of a former mill in Chorley, Lancashire have contributed to profit growth of 49% a year from £1.3m in 2000 to £4.3m in 2003.
