DX Group

Founded as an alternative to Royal Mail during the postal strikes of the 1970s, DX Group today claims to be one of Britain and Ireland’s largest independent mail and courier companies. It processes more than 250m items ofmail each year for major law firms, banks, retailers and government agencies. The company was taken private in August 2006, when Candover purchased the listed DX Services and merged it with Secure Mail Services in a £349m deal. Led by chief executive John Coghlan, sales hit £173.6m in 2008. In August this year, Candover was reportedly considering injecting fresh equity.
