East End Foods

This company is one of the largest importers and processors of ethnic foods in Britain, supplying the main supermarkets as well as 70% of independent Asian retailers and restaurants. It was started when Tony Deep Wouhra, 71, and his four brothers opened a store in Wolverhampton in the 1970s to provide Indian food to recent immigrants. It recently built its third cash-and-carry outlet on the former HP Sauce site in Birmingham and is even exporting its processed spices to India.
