Founded in 1861, Edrington owns some of the world’s leading scotch brands, including The Famous Grouse, Highland Park and The Macallan. Ian Curle, 52, is chief executive. With more than 90% of sales outside the UK, the Glasgow firm has taken back control of distribution in America, southeast Asia and the Middle East, and is investing £10m in new sales and distribution offices in these areas.
