Edwards now operates in more than 20 countries and has had a presence in Asia for more than 35 years. The company’s vacuum technology products are used for everything from industrial heat treating to solar and biofuel energy production. After being part of BOC for 40 years, in 2007 private equity firm CCMP Capital acquired the Crawley-based company in a reported £460m deal. Sales reached £509.8m in 2008 under chief executive Nigel Hunton.
