Tech Track 100

The Casino iPad, developed by the Oldham company EndX, helps casino staff to roam the house floor and monitor gamblers’ habits. The company claims that 85% of Britain’s casinos – including those owned by Gala Group – use its software to analyse everything from membership to croupiers’ performance. The company has also developed a new cashless system for slot machines. Founded in 1997 by Nick Boyes-Hunter and Martin Sykes, EndX has opened an overseas office in the obvious location – Las Vegas. Its sales grew 63% a year from £662,000 in 2000 to £1.8m in 2002.
