Under the trading name Inkagain, Environmental Business Products (EBP) collects, cleans and resells used inkjet printer cartridges. Technology that it developed is used to process the cartridges, which are then sold to retail chains under their own brands. A collection scheme at Tesco offers customers Clubcard credits or the chance to make a charitable donation, paid by EBP, in return for used cartridges. The company’s sales have grown 69% a year from £4.2m in 2000 to £20.4m in 2003, 30% of which are to mainland Europe.
