Dr Sandy Dau, 37, had been practising private dentistry for more than a decade when she founded her own practice with her husband, Harry Gill, 38, in 2014. The business is based in Hampshire, but it has 13 practices spread across the UK as well as a lab. Using an intra-oral scanner, patients are shown what their teeth will look like post-treatment, and can watch their crowns being 3D-printed in-house over the course of a few hours. Sales hit £6.3m in 2019, driven by products such as clear braces and monthly memberships, which see customers pay a subscription for partial or all-inclusive access to its dental services.
