Many schoolchildren no longer have to put up with slow downloads from the internet, thanks to the advent of Equiinet. The Swindon company develops appliances that provide fast and secure internet access for a reported 10,000 schools, the British armed forces and small businesses. Equiinet is the fourth technology start-up of chairman Bob Jones, who co-founded the company with chief executive Keith Baker. Its success in the education sector has boosted sales 44% a year from £2.2m in 2003 to £4.5m in 2005.
