With 120 offices in 37 countries, ERM is a leading environmental management consultancy that was founded in 1971. It forms multi- disciplinary teams that can service clients such as BP or Pfizer all over the world. Its projects range from an environmental impact assessment for a new oil pipeline in China, to costing clean-up operations for large brownfield sites across Europe. Chief executive Peter Regan led a £200m management buyout from the company’s retiring partners in 2001, a deal that was backed by 3i. The London company had sales of £225m in the year to March 2005.
