This pharmaceuticals wholesaler, based near Glasgow, was founded by pharmacist Nigel Kelly, 47, in 2000 to supply independent pharmacies in Scotland. Ethigen now sells across the UK and Ireland and has expanded internationally, importing pharmaceuticals from the Continent and exporting to the Middle East, Africa and the rest of the EU. Nearly half of its revenue is generated abroad, and sales rose 25% in 2012 to reach £150m.
