Founded in 1999 by Steven Athwal, a former owner of mobile-phone shops in the Midlands, this Wolverhampton firm generates most of its revenue through buying obsolete phones from British and continental mobile networks and selling them to distributors throughout the world. However, Euro Communications Distribution also repairs and refurbishes handsets for British companies and has recently moved into the secure disposal of phones and PCs in line with EU environmental directives. Primarily through referrals, sales grew 64% a year, from £2m in 2008 to £8.8m in 2011.
