Camera systems that can operate under extreme temperatures and pressures in oil or gas wells up to several kilometres below ground are EV’s speciality. The firm was founded in 2000 in Norwich and its video technology was initially developed for use in televising automotive sports events. In 2014, private equity house Dunedin Partners acquired the company from Lime Rock Partners in a deal valuing it at £69m. Today EV has offices in the US, Canada, Colombia, Dubai and Australia. Under chief executive Francis Neill, 54, sales reached £21.6m this year.
