Founded in 2011 by Sukhbir Sidhu, 64, this solar-panel installation firm says it is the second-largest operator in the UK by residential sales. Now run by his son, Ricky Sidhu, 36, the Maidenhead firm has expanded into air purification technology, particularly to reduce urban pollution, working with Stanford and Copenhagen universities. Sales hit £9.3m in the year to May, with government subsidies for household solar installations closed to new applicants from April. It plans to launch in Ireland and is in the process of securing funding for a financing scheme that enables homeowners and councils to install solar panels without having to pay up front.
