London-based Farfetch is a fashion retail website founded by Portuguese entrepreneur José Neves, 41. Some 300 independent fashion boutiques around the world sell their wares through the site. The company has subsidiaries in New York, Los Angeles, Sao Paulo, Shanghai and Tokyo, as well as Porto and Guimaraes in Portugal, and saw total turnover, which represents the value of goods sold through the site, reach £199.2m in 2014. Farfetch acquired London boutique Browns in May 2015, and has raised over £120m since it was founded in 2008, from investors including eVenture Capital Partners, Index Ventures, Advent Venture Partners and Condé Nast International.
