Promising to always beat the standard tariffs offered by the big six energy suppliers, First Utility has tripled its customer base over the past year and saw sales and profits double. The Warwick firm now provides gas and electricity to 200,000 consumers and small businesses. Darren Braham, 47, Marcus Citron, 50, and Mark Daeche, 50, set up First Utility in 2003 and Ian McCaig, 47, became chief executive last year.
