Earlier this year Orange launched a three-year deal offering its customers free cinema tickets every Wednesday. The scheme is managed by Flytxt, which co-ordinates the sending out of vouchers by text message, and provides the technology that allows them to be redeemed at the cinema. Other customers for its mobile content services include Sky, Channel 5 and Ford. Flytxt was founded in 2000 by four friends and has raised £4m from IVC and Mars Capital, Herald Ventures and business angels. Sales have grown 236% a year from an annualised £199,000 in 2001 to £2.3m in 2003.
