During the Red Nose Day campaign this year, Flytxt handled almost one million texts from people wanting to donate money to the cause. Headed by Carsten Boers, the company provides content for mobile phones and marketing campaigns such as Orange Wednesdays. Orange’s 13m British customers are offered free cinema tickets, with Flytxt sending out vouchers by text message and providing the technology that allows them to be redeemed at the cinema. Sales at the company have increased 63% a year from £1.4m in 2002 to £3.7m in 2004.
