Not many people can claim to have grown a sport into one of the world’s premier spectator events, but Bernie Ecclestone is one. Formula One Administration controls the worldwide commercial rights to the sport. In 2008, Formula One has visited new race venues at Valencia in Spain and Singapore. The first Abu Dhabi grand prix will take place in 2009. Sales reached £464m in 2007, with earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (ebitda) of £222m.These figures do not include the majority of the Formula One Group’s operations overseas.
