Freddie Garland, 30, launched the business in 2014 from his parents’ garden in Wandsworth, having previously worked for the veg box delivery firm Abel & Cole. For £24 per week, the company delivers seasonal flowers to people’s homes, along with presentation advice. Freddie’s Flowers manages to keep prices low due to reduced waste levels, as boxes are made to order, with the majority of stock in the summer months coming from the UK. It secured an undisclosed amount of investment from Keith Abel, 55, founder of Abel & Cole, and Ted Bell, 46, former managing director of Abel & Cole. Sales reached £10m this year.
