Fresh Bouquets, which trades as Flowerfête, was founded in 1991 and is headed by Colin Hills. The company imports flowers from the Continent and distributes them to 5,000 petrol stations, supermarkets and high-street shops throughout Britain. Last year, to aid overseas expansion, the company began a partnership with FloriFrance and acquired a 50% stake in a Dutch company that grows flowers. It also began retailing online. As well as opening a new depot in Cornwall, the company has invested heavily in IT systems to co-ordinate deliveries to British customers. Its sales have grown 74% a year from £2.1m in 2000 to £10.9m in 2003.
