This company sells a wide range of high-quality furniture, from classic Victorian-style dining room suites, to beds from leading brands and contemporary shelving by Terence Conran. The first Furniture Village store opened in Abingdon in 1989, and there are now 37 outlets across the country. Founded by managing director Peter Harrison and buying director David Imrie, the company achieved annualised sales in 2008 of £184m.
