A string of acquisitions has led to rocketing sales at construction firm Gladedale, which is owned by the serial entrepreneur Remo Dipre and is now one of Britain’s biggest privately-owned housebuilders, with several developments in southeast England. The Epsom firm is also redeveloping Edinburgh’s Quartermile in a £350m joint venture with Bank of Scotland to turn the former Royal Infirmary into a mixed-use development. Other projects include a £120m initiative to regenerate London’s Royal Docks. Sales reached £475m in 2005.
