Stewart Blake, Mark Smith-Halvorsen, Melvin Fraser and Richard Chunn set up Global Reach Partners in the capital in 2001 after working together at the same London finance firm. Today, the firm provides commercial foreign-currency hedging services to businesses, and international payments and currency support services to private individuals. Global Reach Partners says it exchanged £1.8 billion worldwide last year using a software platform which offers clients bespoke solutions and cloud-computing services. Cost-effective automated technology and strong client-retention rates helped profits to rise by 74% a year, from £605,000 in 2007 to £3.2m in 2010.
