This firm’s video trading platform helped it reach £16.3m in sales in 2014, boosted by overseas demand as well as the acquisition in 2012 of Playfire, a social network for gamers. This year the company launched its own publishing label to help bring new video games to the market, and has seen its popularity grow in Australia, Europe and the US. Founded in 2010 by chief executive Paul Sulyok, 48, the company says it is now the world’s number two digital game retailer, with 5,000 titles. The London firm’s high-profile backers include Eden Ventures, Michael Birch, co-founder of Bebo, William Reeve, co-founder of Lovefilm, and Brent Hoberman, who co-founded lastminute.com.
