Greenvale AP supplies potatoes to retailers, caterers and food-processing companies across Britain. The group was formed following a buyout from Dalgety in 1996 and the acquisition of Anglian Produce and Anglian Potato Services. The business has a dedicated seed-breeding programme, which has successfully introduced a number of new varieties of potato to the market. In 2009 it also developed a new cleaning system for root vegetables that it claims will save up to 64m litres of waste water a year. In 2009 operating profits increased to £6.5m, despite a fall in sales to £178m.
