Inventor Nick Grey, 48, left the vacuum cleaner maker Vax in 2001 to design his own cordless floor sweeper. Taking on Dyson and Hoover, the Worcester company aims to develop cleaners that are not just cordless but also light and easy to use, such as its AirRam model. It also makes cordless garden tools and electric bicycles. Products are sold to 19 countries, pushing international sales to £5m last year.
