Profit Track 100

Inventor Nick Grey, 49, left the vacuum cleaner maker Vax in 2001 to design his own cordless floor sweeper. Taking on established brands such as Dyson and Hoover, his Worcester-based company makes the cordless AirRam vacuum cleaner, as well as cordless garden tools and an electric bicycle. After profits rose to £18.2m in 2017, the group announced plans to move some of its production back to Worcestershire from China in 2019, creating 100 additional jobs.
