Controlled by the Gorvy family, this is a conglomerate with a focus on juice drinks, property and venture-capital investment. Its operations stretch from Gerber Emig, Europe’s biggest juice drinks producer, to its Dorrington property investment unit, with assets of about £600m. Another subsidiary, African Realty Trust, is among the biggest growers and processors of citrus fruit in southern Africa, while the Fresh Capital unit provides venture-capital backing. Chief executive Sean Gorvy and chairman Manfred Gorvy oversaw group sales of £591m in 2006.
