Based in Ledbury, Herefordshire, Haygrove was founded by Angus Davison in 1988 as part of a university project. Originally a strawberry, raspberry and cherry grower, it has diversified into designing tunnels and greenhouses. It exports to mainland Europe, Africa and South America and also makes mobile poultry housing. In 1996, Haygrove Development, a not-for-profit organisation, was set up to help train farmers in Gambia and South Africa to produce more and better-quality fruit and vegetables. International sales have grown 33% a year, from £7.8m in 2008 to £13.8m in 2010.
