Founded in Belfast in 1897 to sell butter, cheese and eggs, Henderson Group now supplies Northern Ireland’s Spar, Eurospar, Vivo and VivoXtra franchises as well as operating 79 shops. Last year the firm’s sales grew 6% to £699m after it spent £34m on acquiring new stores, restructuring the business and building a £3.5m head office in Mallusk. The company is led by brothers Martin, 54, and Geoffrey Agnew, 53.
