This honey supplier, which sells to most major supermarkets, experienced five times its usual demand when the pandemic struck and consumers stocked up. It had to double its staff to cope, and sales leapt to £11.7m in the year to August. The company was founded by Scott Davies, 32, in 2011, after a slipped disc in his back meant he could no longer work in a coal yard, as he had since leaving school. The company sources honey from around the world and blends it in Newtown, Powys — with flavours including “Brazilian mountain” and “Spanish lavender”.
