Founder and executive chairman James Hopkins, 58, set up a fish trading business aged 21. He later moved into the building trade, acquiring a run-down cottage, fixing it up and selling it for a profit. His company now operates from one of its developments, with 200 homes, in Suffolk. It also builds in Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. Turnover grew 35% to £172.4m last year, helped by a strengthening market.
